One-Pager Updated to Version 1.1

We have just released a refreshed Version 1.1 of the original Where Fields Go Fallow one-pager – the game that started it all during the One-Page RPG Jam 2024.

No rules have changed. The gameplay remains exactly as before – a tense, grounded struggle for survival as ordinary villagers facing down a chimeric horror of the post-war world. But the look and feel have been entirely reworked.

What’s new in v1.1?

• A completely new visual design and layout, matching the tone of the setting
• Illustration and typography aligned with the Kickstarter zine edition
• Improved readability and clarity for new players
• Small textual clarifications for smoother play, without altering mechanics

This new version is intended to serve as a proper introduction to the full game – whether you are discovering it for the first time, or returning to see where the fields have led us since the jam.

The one-pager became the seed of something larger. Through months of playtesting and development, Where Fields Go Fallow has grown into a fully illustrated, richly written zine RPG – successfully Kickstarted in March 2025. Very soon, you will be able to buy from our website:

It expands on everything in the one-pager: character creation through three playbooks, village development, monster design, narrative resolution, and longer-form play – all while staying true to the game’s slice-of-hearth, folklore, post-war fantasy.

Thank you for downloading, playing, and sharing the original version of this game. Your early support and feedback helped shape what WFGF has become. This 1.1 release is for you – a little sharper, a little more complete, but still free and true to the original.
